Utusan tells BN to ignore Chinese vote after Sarawak polls - The Malaysian Insider

I hope that the Utusan Editor would instead calling the government to step up the effort of 1Malaysia to educate all the citizens of the land to unite and focus on one thing - to achieve advance country and high income for all in the near future.

But, regrettably, he chose to go for the negative option, that is to isolate the community which went against the government in the election.

I wonder if he understands what democracy, freedom of expression, and minority rights are all about.

Utusan is the most influential voice of UMNO and of the Malay community, being a media of such magnitude, it should be promoting the 1Malaysia spirit of inclusiveness than exclusiveness.


They should approach the urban voters by telling the majority community what these urbanites want and the advantages of going along with the urbanites than promoting 'marginalization' and more misunderstandings between the urbanites and the rest of the country.


They (Utusan) shouldn't behave like this simply because the urban people voted against the government.


Their mentality and attitude are very much undesired especially when UMNO-led BN has been trying relentlessly to unite the people of Malaysia for the future benefits of the nation.


What Utusan Editor is doing is to sabotage it instead of helping the government.

It's the priority on governance, and not the originality of 1Malaysia

PM Najib shouldn't be too concerning on the originality of the 1Malaysia concept, what's important to us as citizen is that we want good governance. A government that can unite all the people of Malaysia under a fair & just policies of governance, caring for our welfare, and deliver what a good government should.

I'm still not quite understand the rational behind all these fuss from the opposition about the originality of the campaign except that it's about the so-called Zionist Israel.

On foreigner to be involved in the civil service (or governance?), I hope that we will not be too liberated to allow foreigner to become our Prime Minister in the near future. It's not impossible if the Sabahan PTI is not resolved, by then technically some of these PTIs become Malaysian, they are eligible to run for the UMNO presidency. I hope embracing the PTI into Malaysian is not part of the 1Malaysia plan and spirit.

The day will come when UMNO leaders keep saying publicly the word 'Malaysian' than the word 'Malay'. UMNO leadership shall be the deciding factor in the direction of future Malaysia.

The fact that the 1malaysia created by the so-called consultant merely a coincidence that Israel had something similar years ago. There's nothing wrong to copy the idea and concept so long as it's beneficial to us and without the legal liabilities and violation of international laws.

If BN government could really carry out the 1Malaysia in reality, and successfully, then the next Nobel prize winner may be our PM Najib.

Just wait and see.

Who's YB Ibrahim Ali?

Why is he treated 'special' within the 'fold' of BN or UMNO?

Is he an UMNO member, UMNO sympathizer or supporter?

What's Perkasa relationship with UMNO, or BN?

Is Perkasa an associate of UMNO, or BN?

The involvement of Perkasa in BN is quite 'significant' during the Ulu Selangor by-poll, according to what Ibrahim Ali said in this interview.

The impression is that Perkasa was seen doing things that were deem not appropriate for UMNO to do, or carry out. So, is it right to say that Perkasa is an unofficial vehicle for UMNO? Is Perkasa 'designed' or portrayed as 'right winger' in UMNO/BN to avoid direct clashes with PM Najib's '1Malaysia' initiatives?

BN must take a stand whether to allow outsiders like Perkasa to meddle, or 'involve', in the internal affairs of BN.

It's very unfair for BN's components, or partners, that an outsider like Perkasa is allowed 'freely' moving around inside and outside the BN, and bossing around too.

UMNO, being the 'dominant' partner in BN, must quickly declare that they have nothing to do with Perkasa, otherwise, it will cause dismay among the BN component partners like especially MCA.

BN is in the midst of rebuilding its strength after 8-March-2008 general election, and it's especially more so for MCA; it therefore can't afford to have any unnecessary conflicts within itself.

The seemingly active 'involvement' of Perkasa in the BN fold has been undesirable, and counterproductive.

In conclusion, the relationship between Perkasa and Barisan Nasional (or UMNO) must be clarified as soon as possible.

How to make MCA back to 'normal' mode?

I agree totally to some bloggers that MCA must change now or face extinction.

We must first stop infighting and unite all factions in the party - a prime and foremost responsibility of the headman.

The President must work out a strategy with all the stalwarts in the Central Committee, and an immediate action plan on how to turn round the party, especially on matter on regaining confidence of the public, primarily the Chinese voters.

Be bold and firm with its political partners, especially UMNO, on all matters concerning component partners. UMNO-led BN must hold regular meetings in each States in order to iron out problems, and issues, in order to enhance the potential of BN.

UMNO must also change by learning to respect the existence of its partners via its 1Malaysia concept, People First, and Performance Now! If these were done immediately, significant result will be seen in the shortest future.

I recommend that BN in Semenanjung not to rush in overthrowing the ‘opposition’, especially in the 5 states that now under the Pakatan Rakyat (PR). The more desperate BN moves on the ‘overthrowing’ trail, the more difficult it is to achieve miracle at this stage of the event. PR has hardly made any wrong doings in a mere 14 month’s period; therefore it’s too soon to bring them to police or MAAC at this juncture. It’s not wrong to give PR a chance to prove itself. People want to see a fair attitude and example from BN; which is one of the most important elements they are looking for with the new BN, now!

BN must comply with the people by listening to their woes, and for god sake, never ever lecturing them as they are mature enough to know their needs.

From UMNO To MCA Sabah

I'm intrigued by the remarks of YB Bung Moktar, the Kinabatangan member of Parliament, on the great performance of Sabah UMNO in the just concluded UMNO General Assembly.

"He said that while Sabah's performance in the 12th general election was important, equally crucial was the delegates' preference in wanting to see a balanced representation among the states."

The honourable YB Bung Moktar also said: "that all states were represented in the line-up and this would go a long way in restoring confidence in the party".

However, he had not mentioned that the UMNO Central Delegates from Sabah is the second highest in terms of numbers!

I'm referring to a news reported in Bernama 27-March-2009 where the outspoken YB from the east coast of Sabah, made the comment after their glorious success in Putra World Trade Centre. (http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v5/newsindex.php?id=399649).

The achievements of Sabah UMNO are as follows:-

Datuk Shafie Apdal as Vice President, Datuk Rosnah as Putri UMNO Head, Datuk Musa Aman, Datuk Lajim Okin, and Datuk Bong Moktar as Central Committee Members.

Indeed, this is a healthy political development and trend for Sabah and Malaysia; I hope that the trend would be extended to other federal-based parties like MCA, MIC and Gerakan, not only for party influence regionally, but for the sake of national integration.

MCA in its last AGM had elected two (2) Central Committee Members from Sabah, which "rightfully" should have been three (3). It was. however, considered a "break through" for Sabah MCA, as the state had always been "given" only one seat (after some consensus understanding).

It has also been the majority wish of Sabah MCA to see greater, and significant, participation in the central leadership; the creation of a Vice President post solely for East Malaysian region will be a favourable, if not remarkable, reformation. The logic for the reformation is that a closer ties, and involvement, with the East Malaysian states, is the positive way to bring down all the barriers between the people of east and west Malaysia.

I feel that the current representation is just not enough and warrants a serious review by the top leaders if MCA sincerely wants to have influence in the politic of Sabah or Sarawak.

The MCA Central Delegates from Sabah, which stands at 125 at the moment, can be doubled, if more aggressive efforts from central leadership are forthcoming.

The golden opportunity is available now with SAPP being out of the BN, and that the Sabah MCA is the only Chinese Party on par with the strength of UMNO, provided MCA wants to be so. It's now up to the top MCA leaders whether they want the party to fill the vaccum in Sabah. It may be "now or never" for MCA Sabah.

We hope that the same achievement by Sabah UMNO can be "emulated" in the federal civil services that more Sabahan or East Malaysian are accepted like their counterparts in the political arena.

The ball is now with the federal leaders, especially so for the new UMNO leadership.

UMNO SABAH SHOULD USE THEIR INFLUENCE NOW

Sabah not getting new hospital yet

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has to wait a little longer for a new general hospital despite the urgency of the matter, as there is no budget for it under the current Ninth Malaysia Plan.

“We have agreed in principle to a new hospital, but we cannot say when it will be implemented,” Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad told reporters Monday after launching a pre-school food safety campaign.

He was asked about plans to overcome severe congestion at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital here after its eight-storey tower block was closed due to structural problems. Patients were relocated to other hospitals in the state.

“We are still waiting for the budget from the Finance Ministry and the Economic Planning Unit,” he said.

However, he added, a plot of land for the hospital had been identified.

What! No Money for replacing the Sabah's Oldest Established Hospital with a new hospital structure?

Being 2nd largest of 325 votes also can't do anything to help getting the hospitals Sabahan need badly?

It's really a shame for the country as QEH is a Referral Hospital in Sabah. Despite being the longest established hospital since 1953, it's also the only main government hospital in the whole Kota Kinbalu city.

Kota Kinabalu is a State Capital, a tourist's favourite, which is also the main gateway to Sabah.

It will be bad if health services in Kota Kinabalu are at fault or not up to international standard due to the deteriorating condition caused by the "un-safe for use" declaration of its main tower block in last November.

The quality of service is compromised now as a result of the consequential shifting and dispersion of facilities to other surrounding locations.

It should be an important responsibility of the government to make sure that standard is kept to acceptable level, both domestically or internationally. The situation might affect the tourism business badly if no immediate attempts to address the shortcomings.

Finance Minister, also DPM, Dato Najib, should seriously help us on this matter as Sabahan has been suffering enough with all the misdeeds of the pasts.

Never mind about the so-called Sabah Development Corridor which can be developed in parallel despite a little later but not the people's life and health; he should therefore take a special look into this matter urgently, and approve the required fund accordingly now, before it's too late.

This time, DPM should make sure that the government appoints the best contractor to deliver the new building in less than 2 years time.

Sabahan will definitely appreciate it for his competency and caring.

what are the lessons that BN learnt from the "Ahmad Ismail" case ?

As a ruling organization in Malaysia, BN, should realize the following: -

1. BN (led mainly by UMNO) should stop “marginalized” all their respective component parties like MCA, MIC, Gerakan, SAPP, PBS, PBRS, LDP etc. i.e. a United ruling party is needed!

2. BN should lead the way to rectify the general misconception among all the bumiputras in the country that Chinese & Indian Malaysian do not owe them anything because of being descendents of immigrant; and therefore should be treated equally like any persons in the country. i.e. a United Malaysian nation is badly needed!

3. With the emergence of Pakatan Rakyat, PR ( led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim), the situation has changed that BN should be more sensitive to the needs and feelings of the people. The expectation from the people is now higher than ever that BN has a lot to catch up before it’s too late. i.e. BN has to be competitive now. No more monopoly.

一向来巫统是有恃无恐的"單独"摇着国阵旗职.人说:巫统就是国阵,国阵就是政府,政府就是巫统了.它依恃着其刻意设立的包赢策略:既是不管其他陪衬作用的所谓代表其他少数族群的政党全部告捷也不能撼动其單独做政府的骄人本钱.更不用谈想用压力了.所以各路国阵成員党是硬不起来的.这样的格局使到马华,民政及其他东马政党沦落到只不過是根据剧情需要可以随意增删的配角而已.所谓好汉不吃眼前亏,惟有卧薪尝胆了.一直到马来人大分裂,那种牢不可破永不沉沒的局面终於打開了.马来人大分裂的始作俑者就是安华和回教党的尼克阿兹在外,而另一边厢数敦马伯拉也.能摧化成今天的格局真正的刽子手除了巫统本身外,实是广大的各族人民.国阵现在的压力是民联及人民也.得民心者得天下,巫统上下听得懂吗?

副相纳吉就华人寄居论代人道谦

其实代人道谦有跡可寻,想当年翁诗杰"三萬变三千"事件"開罪"希沙母丁还不是他的前上司馬士打花替他摆平道谦打圆場了事,虽然整个事件错不在翁,奈何身为"小人"不得不"小人該死,冒犯大人"匆匆枉作小人收場.
因为事情处理有欠公平,人民尤其是華社因此都高举老翁為敢於揭发弊端而名声大噪也.
为何翁当時不向希沙道谦呢?因为翁認為他揭人好事,错不在他;更且,他是替人民做正事尽其作为人民代议士的责任而已.
希沙母丁也因此事件自暴其丑丢尽颜面.
据说与此同时,在内阁的馬華同僚部長們涉嫌在内阁会议時未曾揭力维護老翁,导致老翁成众矢之的,一時狼狈不堪,难於招架.
今次副首相替同志道谦实有姑息养奸误导群众之嫌,至於其行动的真正代表性及有效性,有待今後巫統各阶层的言谈,行為举止才能下定論了.
