Would banning Karpal from entering Perak improves respect for the Sultan?

My view on the following piece of news published in The Star Online today:-

"Ban Karpal from entering Perak"

I don't think the above call by PKDK president Datuk Tengku Zainol Rashid Tengku Yahya to ban Karpal from entering the state could change the situation. On the contrary, it may create more unnecessary misunderstandings and negative impressions towards our constitution as well as our maturity in politic.

It may not be appropriate for the istana to issue any statement for the infamous decision made on events happened recently, however, people has the right to express themselves and Karpal, being an outspoken politician, should be given the chance to explain his action later when things are settled down.

It's definitely inappropriate for any party to stir up issues where "harsh" and inappropriate actions can only create more resentments, suspicions and unnecessary speculations.

If Karpal were "wrong", there are constitutions and laws that would put him to the appropriate punishments he deserves. After all, Karpal has been a senior lawyer and as an elected representative for years whom should know the limit.

If the call by PKDK president is materialized, a lot of the citizens may not be allowed to enter the state of Perak, not mentioning the problems on setting up checkpoints at all the major entry points in the state for the purpose.

The ruler is above politic and free from politic; in due respect, no political parties should involve the ruler in any way that could tarnish their image and integrity.
